I could so hear this in my head ... the exact tone of voice, the faux excited way it would be said. Too bad your other dog isn't much of a reader.

You SO make me laugh. :)

you have to post one for the other dog now, it's not fair :-)

Do you know how much of an embarrassment you are to him? Let him read his quantum physics in peace, goddamnit!! (Sheesh)

BTW, poochie #2 has just shit on the couch for all the favouritism you haven't shown him..

Can Mackie have a snack now? Yes, I can have a snack now. Oh boy, I'm a good dog and I'm getting a snack. Can Mackie have eggs Benedicts? Mackie loves eggs Benedicts. What dogs get eggs Benedicts? Audubon Ron's dogs get eggs Benedicts. Yo, yo, yo, yo. What's this, that better not be a milk bone. Dayum! Not fair.

If I wasn't so awful busy consoling my dog over the fact that she suggested this title MONTHS AGO, MOM, I'd be laughing my butt off.

well played.

I think you're talking to my dog because that's the same language we speak to each other.

Liz Mays said...

I'm practically wagging my tail over here!

Very funny. Now I really have to get a dog so that I have someone to post for.

I had to laugh. Very funny. Especially the part about one dog not being much of a reader. Hee.

I'm barking in your direction and my cats think their human's lost it for good! LOL

I understand you were speaking to Mackie, but I found myself panting and shaking my butt...damn I wish I had a tail...

Hilarious! I live alone with my dog, and the way I talk to her sometimes, even makes me sick! "Oh you cute little puppy faced puppy from puppy face land!" Never mind she's 12 years old, she is still my big baby! But now I feel like a really bad pet owner because my dog doesn't have a blog!

Myrna R. said...

So funny. What does your other dog like to do? Paint, crochet?

Claudya Martinez said...

ahahaha! Well, so far 30 people liked that you posted for your dog! I think I'm going to give that a try! I'll do anything for popularity!

Oh, too funny! I could almost *hear* the post in my head as I read it. =)

Well, my dog loved the post!

Sorry, but Mackie just had a discreet word in my ear.

"I'm supposed to like this blog post? I'm supposed to be wagging my tail with joy? Are you kidding? There's no mention of bones or walkies or luxury dog baskets or that sexy dog next door. It needs a big rewrite, pardner."

You are hilarious -- or insane --- or a combination of both! Love your blog. Thanks for visiting mine (which is not worthy to wipe the snot off yours!)

PS - I too love those "name not to be mentioned" green God-given fruit with the large pits!

Well, at least one of the two can read...:)

My father used to breed terriers and he would talk to the dogs thus. He seemed to have some consternation that I talked to them in the same voice that I talked to other people.

I'll bet you're out of the "dog house" for sure now!

See now, you've just given me another reason not to have pets! :-)

I still think that other dog deserves a nice read aloud version, don't you?

This reminds me of an old haiku I once read, which I've heard was written by a dog.

"Fetch"

A STICK! A STICK! A
STICK! A STICK! A STICK! A STICK!
A STICK! A STICK! THANKS!

Anonymous said...

lol Do you really talk to your dog like that?

I like what Shrinky said

Snowbrush said...

You realize, of course, that when your dog read this, he kept thinking to himself, "Tatty's a nice enough gal, but, god does she ever have a limited vocabulary!"

Snowbrush said...

Uh, none of these things? How about, "You are SO smart, and SO personable, and SO wise, and SO sexy too. Woman, you have it all."

Snowbrush said...

Uh, oh, put that last comment under the wrong post, so I'll go and put it under the right post because if I just delete it, it will show that I deleted it, and everyone will wonder what kind of stupid comment I made.

Super Happy Girl said...

Dang, I have never written a post for my dog.

*Leaves thoroughly ashamed*

Snowbrush said...

"Dang, I have never written a post for my dog."

Ah, but can YOUR dog read? I know mine can't, but of course that's only because she's completely blind. My cats another matter though. We're thinking he might need a special tutor.

Revenge Of The Flipper Kids said...

Maybe your other dog is more of a philosopher. Or a hands on guy. Maybe he likes to knit or do woodwork instead of reading blogs? I hope he doesn't feel left out! :)

sweffling said...

I sat there with such a silly grin on my face reading this:) Nice to know that we all speak to our dogs like this.
Well done Mackie, enjoy your blog, good dog. Clever dog.
