Hail yes we had a storm today!
This was what was left once the rain quieted down enough for me to open the door:
Why do I always, compulsively, feel the need to collect hail? I'm lucky the stuff melts, or by this point I'd need to rent storage space to keep it all.
Anyway I do, and wow is it cool when you can scoop a whole bowl full!
Almost looks as though you could dig to the middle and find an enormous spittle bug in there.
Still going to finish the last entry and post the rest of those pics... soon!

I'll admit. Collecting hail is one compulsion I don't have! Interesting pictures!
What a refreshing change of weather! How delightful!!!

I used to collect a bowl of hail and put maple syrup on it when I was a kid ... I guess it was probably cleaner back then!
That certainly is an interesting thing to collect, but luckily it doesn't take up too much space!!
To be honest I also have the compulsion to scoop it up and bring it inside! I have since I was a little girl. No harm done, and it really is fascinating to see, especially on a hot summer day!
Great photos!
It's amazing how perfectly round those little balls of hail are. It makes you want to run your fingers over the smoothness!
ROFL reminds me of the storm we had a while back... Front door wide open to watch it roll in until
the wind shifted suddenly, the front room filled with these seed pods from the tree in a total twist of wind
and then the hail hit -- so hard it was coming IN the house -- I was laughing....Anna? NOT impressed! lol

Three things:
1. really funny that you said "Hail yes..."
2. cool that you collected it.
3. it looks amazing and scrumptious up close.
i love that you collect the hail. it seems somehow romantic trying to capture the weather like that.
Wow, the weather can be so crazy!
OMG...Craziness! I've done this too! :)
The photo of the ice is amazing. great read.
I have a friend who has a huge chunk of hail saved in his fridge that's been there for months.
Your last picture makes me think of tapioca when I look at it. Yum!
